PAIGE - HUNGARIAN VIZSLA
Introducing Paige, Paige is the original Rabbit Express dog, born on the 8th December 2013. She is a Hungarian vizsla so origanlly bred to to a HPR (Hunt, Point, Retreve) dog but her love for ferreting and rabbits took over. Paige came to us as a rescue bitch at the age of 4 years old after having a traumatic begining to life and a total of 5 owners before us; she is now living the high life with me (Megan) and Suki. Its fair to say Paige is a once in a life time dog and will never be replaced. she will always be my best friend.
Paige has gone from strength to strength when ferreting and lamping, starting of when she was 6 years old and picking it up along the way, unfortunately she does not process the speed of a lurcher to catch rabbits consistently but will catch every 1 in 5 and does an amazing life to hand retrieve. This isn't to say vizslas can't catch rabbits as we have a younger vizsla who picks rabbits up for fun and will catch every time but she is only used along side the gun. Where Paige shines in the field is definitely her marking and retrieving; she is never wrong when marking a warren and this saves us countless hours ferreting unused sets. With a nose like hers we can do our job quickly and effectively
