 Lamping For Rabbits

Lamping for rabbits is the use of high powered lamps/torches that you shine over the area your working on lighting up the rabbits reflection in there eyes, allowing you to shoot the rabbit so indeed send a trained running dog to collect and retrieve the rabbit live to hand. This proves to be a extremely good method for rabbit control when do right. Lamping for rabbits can only been done at night and preferable under thick cloud with no moon showing.

Lamping rabbits is a method of control that involves an high powered light that you are able to shine on the effected land and rabbits and a gun or one of our specially trained dogs. All Land is walked, mapped and conditions are checked before we begin lamping. This then allows us to effectively, quickly and quietly remove the rabbits with out problems or injury. Mostly this method is done on foot to be as quiet and efficient as possible. This method is brilliant for areas that you can't get too with the ferrets showing brilliant results time and time again.

Before we begin for the night the ground has to be mapped and checked for any obstacles that could injure our dogs or effect our ability to be able to work with our dogs or guns. SO.. What about our dogs? Our dogs are highly trained in this area, training from a young ages starting with retrieving, basic obedience and livestock braking to advanced obedience and working on the lamp. Our dogs have been brought up with livestock from a young age on our estate. Not only do they have to be brilliant workers but also have to be brilliant pets.
